What can I do about my super dry skin?
For the past month or so my skin has been extremely dry and it's never been this bad. I was using Clinique's dramatically different moisturizing gel, then I tried Cosmedicine's hydra healer as well as Lancome's bienfait multivital lotion, and now I'm using Mac's moisturelush cream. I regularly exfoliate my face but even after I exfoliate, I manage to literally rub skin off my face. Aside from my face, there are various trouble spots on my body that are also very dry and peel. I'm hardly out in the sun, I exfoliate my body and apply body oil after I get out the shower but for some reason my skin isn't getting any less dry.
i don't have a humidifier, i use an apricot scrub, and i use coconut body oil
For people with really dry and skin, and especially for people with skin problems such as eczema doctors always recomend that you bath with lukewarm water and pat urself dry, dont rub. As soon as you get out the shower you should cover yourself from head to toe with oil-based lotion (not water-based or u may as well not be putting on lotion at all. Wear cotton clothes so your skin can breathe and ofcourse drink plenty of water. Trust me, my son and huband have eczema and i have jst plain old dry skin and it works for all of us. You might also try using some probiotic soap and lotion.
